Artist's Comments
This is Optimus Prime from the 2007 Transformers movie. It took 2 hours to draw. I decided to go light on the shading, because I felt it would take away from the detail, especially around the optics.
This is the first Transformer that I've ever drawn. All of my drawings are free hand and I'm used to drawing portraits and landscapes, where imperfections are hardly noticeable and even add to the works. However, with this, where straight lines and curves are a must, I found that I don't have a steady hand when it comes to drawing perfect straight and curved lines. I discovered the imperfection early on in the drawing, but finished it anyway, as I was rather enjoying myself.
